Pray with Us during Lent, the Church's Most Sacred Season
During the holy season of Lent, God offers us a very special opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and with one another. In the “busy-ness” of our everyday life, these 40 days give us a chance to pray more deeply, experience repentance for the good we have failed to do and to be generous to those in need.
To assist all of us in our preparations for the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus, we offer for your daily reflection the resources prepared by the Jesuits in the Collaborative Ministries of Creighton University. The reflection series include a simple daily prayer for each day of Lent and the Easter Triduum.
For your meditation each day there is also a link to the Scripture readings of the day and a brief reflection. Each daily prayer concludes with a spontaneous prayer composed by contributors in the Collaborative Ministries as an example of the type of prayer we might pray in our own words. There are also additional suggestions of books to read and resources for parish use.
We are very grateful to the Jesuits and the Collaborative Ministries of Creighton University. Be assured of our prayer as we journey together during this sacred time of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, our Redeemer.
In addition, to assist your Lenten meditation and prayer, we include: a Mardi Gras Prayer, the 2010 Lenten Message by Pope Benedict XVI, a Carbon Calendar, Cooking in Lent, Online Stations of the Cross and various other reflective pieces.
