In her article, Sister Rita Jean describes the Diamond Technique with its uses: client empowerment and practitioner self-care. In her summary, Sister Rita Jean writes, “I see the Diamond in my mind’s eye as a three-dimensional configuration filled with Light from the Divine Source. Sister Rita Jean, a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, is director of the Center for Complementary Therapies at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam. She is a clinical nursing specialist, a credentialed alcoholism and substance-abuse counselor, an accredited T’ai Chi Chih Teacher, and has been involved in the ministry of wellness for over 30 years. Sister Rita Jean has authored numerous publications and in 2010 was honored with the Distinguished Trailblazer Award by the Girl Scout Association of Northeastern New York. She is a certified healing-touch practitioner and instructor and is a charter member of the Healing Touch Professional Association. She maintains an active healing-touch, community-based practice at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, New York.
